Law 25 compliant website design, hosted in Quebec
Your website is often the first thing a customer sees of your business. Since Law 25, it is also the first place where you can be caught out. We design, host and maintain websites that hold up on both counts.
Two ways to do it, and how we choose
We build websites in two ways: on WordPress, or with Odoo’s website module. The choice isn’t a matter of preference; it comes down to a single question: does your website need to talk to the rest of your system?
Odoo makes sense when the answer is yes. A request received on the website becomes an opportunity in your CRM, a product on display follows your real inventory, a quote is signed and paid online. The website is no longer a separate storefront: it’s a doorway into the system you already use to run your business.
WordPress is our choice when the answer is no — and that’s the case for many businesses. If you have no customer follow-up or inventory to manage, plugging your website into a complete management system gives you nothing, and imposes its templates on you. WordPress gives you much more freedom, especially if your website has needs out of the ordinary: a training area, membership management, bookings, a custom layout.
We tell you frankly where you stand, even if it means steering you toward the cheapest option.
WordPress: freedom, and what it demands
WordPress runs a considerable share of the web, and its strength lies in its ecosystem: for just about any particular need, a plugin exists. That’s what makes it possible to build websites an integrated tool couldn’t.
That freedom comes with a catch that is often kept from you: more plugins means more maintenance. Each one has to be kept up to date, and each one widens the attack surface. A WordPress website delivered and then left on its own becomes a security problem within months — this isn’t a hypothesis, it’s the most common scenario.
That is precisely why we don’t deliver a website and then disappear. We host it on our servers, apply the updates, monitor what happens on it and step in when something goes wrong.
A concrete example: we built and maintain labaq.ca, a WordPress website with an online training area and membership management — exactly the kind of particular need that justifies WordPress rather than an integrated website. We tell the story of this project in detail in the LABAQ website case study.
An Odoo website: when the website is part of the system
If you already manage your sales, customers or inventory in Odoo — or are thinking about it — building the website in the same tool eliminates a long list of headaches.
- Forms create opportunities directly in your CRM, with no copy and paste
- Your products and their prices come from a single source, the one you already keep up to date
- Your customers view their quotes, invoices and payments in a portal
- A single system to host, back up and update
The website you are reading right now works this way. Our pricing page is generated from our product records: when a price changes in our system, it changes on the website. Nobody edits two places.
Law 25 is not optional on a website
Law 25 applies to every private business in Quebec, with no size threshold. As soon as a website collects a name and an email in a form, it collects personal information — and the obligations apply.
In practice, a website we deliver includes as standard:
- a privacy policy written for your situation, not a generic template;
- a compliant cookie banner, and an honest inventory of what the website actually sets;
- forms with explicit consent and a statement of purpose;
- a person in charge of the protection of personal information, identified and reachable.
It isn’t an extra added at the end of the project: it’s built in from the design stage, because catching up afterwards costs more. For an existing website, see what Law 25 requires of a website and our compliance packages, from $80 for an audit to $600 for the complete package.
We are not lawyers. For a reading of your particular situation, consult a legal advisor — we take care of the technical side.
Hosted in Quebec, maintained by the same person
Your website lives on our servers, at OVH in Canada. That gives you a simple, verifiable answer when a customer asks where their data is — and it removes a step from your compliance file, since there is no communication of personal information outside Quebec to justify.
Hosting includes updates, a daily local and off-site backup, and daily monitoring. From $20 per month.
We work with a limited number of clients at a time. The person who designs your website is the same one who answers your call six months later.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the content myself?
Yes, and that’s by design. Both WordPress and Odoo have a visual editor: you change a text, a photo or a price without calling us, and training on updating your content is included in the design price. What we keep on our side are the technical updates and security — precisely what breaks a website when nobody looks after it anymore.
What if I want to leave with my website?
It’s yours. We hand you a complete archive — files and database — and answer your new provider’s questions. WordPress and Odoo are both open-source software: your website runs elsewhere without a rewrite, and nothing in the way we work holds you back artificially.
How long does it take?
Allow three to six weeks between the first meeting and the launch of a showcase website. What stretches the schedule is almost never technical: it’s the time the content takes — your texts, your photos, what you want to say. We give you a content plan at the start, precisely so that part doesn’t hold things up.
I already have a website. Do I need to start over?
Not necessarily, and we’ll tell you frankly. Sometimes an existing website only needs to be brought into compliance, faster hosting and a few SEO fixes. That’s what the $80 audit helps decide: you get a written report of the gaps found, and then you decide what comes next.
